Tomorrow evening we make a yearly trip to Hilton Head Island with my parents. We're so excited!

Brooklynn's First Trip to the Movies

This morning Brooklynn and I went to the movies. The local theater shows kids movies during the summers on Wednesday mornings. The tickets were only $1 each so there was really nothing to lose. I decided to take a chance and see how well she'd handle the whole movie experience. Once inside the theater she asked me if it was "night night" time. After easing her mind about the having to go "night night" Brooklynn did really well. She made it about an hour before she began to get a little restless. I asked her if she was ready to go "bye bye" once she got restless and she clutched her popcorn. Once I explained to her that she could take her popcorn home with us she waved good bye to the movie screen and headed towards the exit. All in all it was a fun morning and we'll probably try it again next week.

Splish Splash!

After SF this morning Brooklynn and I enjoyed a play date at one of the local playgrounds that has a splash area. Brooklynn had a great time and probably would have stayed all day if I had let her.

Happy Birthday Brooklynn!

Sunday we celebrated Brooklynn's 2nd birthday. We started the day with birthday doughnuts (you only turn 2 once!). Later that afternoon we celebrated with a birthday party at the Children's Museum in the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science. It was so nice to share the day with Brookie's little friends and their families. She had a great time opening presents later on that evening after we got home and even woke up the next morning chanting "Birthday". :)

Where does the time go?

In a few hours my baby girl will officially turn 2 years old. Although the days often seem long the time has flown by. The past two years have been more amazing than I could ever imagine. Check out how my little girl has changed over the past two years.

A Girls Trip!!!

Last week Brooklynn and I headed to Alabama for the 4th of July. For the holiday we joined my mom, my cousins, my nieces, and all five of my aunts for a girls weekend in Gatlinburg, TN. We stayed in a really great house that overlooked the Smoky Mountains. We had a great time just relaxing, talking, laughing, eating, and of course shopping. The kids loved being in the same house with everyone and of course took full advantage of all the lovin and attention from everyone. I roomed with my cousin Crystal and we had a great time staying up late talking and laughing. All in all it was a great trip with an amazing group of women that I'm so blessed to be able to call my family. Here are a few pics of us getting ready for the road trip.

Red, White, and Blue's Clues

While we were in Gatlinburg we had a birthday party for Brooklynn's second birthday. We had a Blue's Clues theme and it was soooo cute! Everything was blue! The girls had a great time and everyone (except Nana) had Blue's Clues tattoos for the party. Brooklynn loved everything and even carried her pinata around the house for the rest of the trip. One party down, one more to go!
