Fall, Family, and Fun

I am so behind on my blog I don't know where to begin! Over the past few weeks we've been enjoying the fall weather and festivities. We've been to a few festivals, trade days, and now my family is in town!!! Here are some pics of all of our fall fun. Also, Brooklynn had to decorate a pumpkin for her school's fall Festival this week. We had a lot of fun with it and I think it turned out pretty cute!!!

Mommy Loves a "Must Have"

Today, the "Must Have" toy for 2008 made its way to stores, Elmo Live. I am a self admitted sucker for anything that is considered a "must have". So I strategically placed relatives all over the country at Target stores bright and early this morning. The result, 5 Elmo Lives!

Of course my intention was to save Elmo for Christmas but surprise, surprise I couldn't resist the urge to give it to Brooklynn today! Here's video of Brooklynn and her Elmo Live! He's tooooo cute!

Thursday's Thirteen ~ What's Hot and What's Not in Brooklynn's World

The life of a toddler is complex and exciting. Trends, likes, and dislikes change on almost a daily basis. As of today this is a list of some of things Brookie likes and doesn't like.

1. Puppies (real, pretend, stuffed, etc.) - HOT
2. Living off of a diet of oatmeal, pasta, and pizza - HOT
3. Naps - NOT
4. Spongebob Square Pants -HOT
5. TV shows mommy wants to watch- NOT
6. Sweet tea - HOT
7. Stores where mommy wants to go - NOT
8. Telling mommy and daddy "No" - HOT
9. Being told "No" by mommy and daddy - NOT
10.The word "cute" - HOT
11.Dora the Explorer - STILL HOT
12.Wearing our Dora panties on top of our diapers - HOT
13. Using the potty - HOT for mom (she even tells mom "good girl" when mommy goes potty.) NOT HOT for herself

A Visit from the Fire Department

Today Brooklynn's school had a visit from the local fire department. All through the month of October they will be learning about various community helpers. Brooklynn really enjoyed the firefighters visit! She loved exploring all the equipment and the fire truck. After the visit they made really cute firefighter hats in their classroom.
