This morning we went to celebrate Brooklynn's little friend Jackson's 2nd birthday. It was a backyard bug bash. Brooklynn had so much fun catching bugs with her net and bug box and playing in Jackson's backyard. One of her favorite parts of the morning was the bug lollipop she got on the way out.

A Movie and Museum
Friday morning Brooklynn and I got up bright and early to go with Mateo and his mommy (Lourdes) to the children's museum. Of course the kids had a ball and Brooklynn even took a 3 hour nap when we got home.

Later on that evening I went to see Sex and the City the movie with three of my girlfriends. We had a great time and the movie was sooooooo good! We bought our tickets in advance and had to get there early and stand in line in order to get decent seats. Luckily, we were able to get amazing seats! Afterwards we had a bite to eat and "discussed" all about the movie, husbands, kids, etc. I love girl night outs! Check out the line that had formed for the next showing when we were on our way out!

Thursday's Thirteen~ Thirteen Things I Learned This Week While I Was Sick
This week I became sick with a high fever and flu like symptoms. Hendersohn had the same symptoms about 3 weeks ago and still hasn't "fully recovered" (in his words). I started feeling sick on Tuesday and got up on Wed. morning to go back on "mommy" duty. I'm in no way completely better but let's face it, mommies can't be sick! Here's what I learned:
1. You really can give up control of your household when you"re forced to
2. Brooklynn knows how to say "Mommy go night night" ( @ 4:00 in the afternoon)
3. Husbands need these occasional few days to get some perspective on the demands of being the "mommy"
4. Even when a mom feels like she can't even sit upright, she can somehow muster up enough strength for one bedtime story
5. Husbands may avoid physical contact when you have flu symptoms but your child will always want a hug and kiss no matter what condition you're in
6. A toddler can survive a few meals of cold pizza and juice
7. Hendersohn had no idea how to assemble a sippy cup (he now knows the plug is important)
8. The clean up behind your husbands "cleaning up" requires more work than cleaning up the first time
9. All it takes is one call and my husband comes running
10. You can sing the "Backyardigans" with your child (at their request) even though you feel as if death is upon you
11. Our bedtime routine (that normally takes 30 - 45 min for me )can be done in less than 10 (when Daddy does it)
12. Life can go on without you (just not as smoothly or like you'd have it to go)
13. God has an amazing way of quickly healing mommies because he knows how much they're needed! :)

Brooklynn's Year at MDO
Friday was Brooklynn's last day at Mom's Day Out for the year. Her teachers and the staff were so wonderful. She had a great year!
Party @ Loft 610
Saturday night Hendersohn and I went to dinner to celebrate my friend Heather's birthday. We had dinner at Loft 610 and we were even personally escorted to the VIP lounge by the restaurant manager after dinner. Unfortunately, we weren't able to live it up in VIP for very long. We had to go back on Mommy/Daddy duty and pick up little Miss Brookie from the babysitter. Here's a few pics from the evening.
