This week I became sick with a high fever and flu like symptoms. Hendersohn had the same symptoms about 3 weeks ago and still hasn't "fully recovered" (in his words). I started feeling sick on Tuesday and got up on Wed. morning to go back on "mommy" duty. I'm in no way completely better but let's face it, mommies can't be sick! Here's what I learned:
1. You really can give up control of your household when you"re forced to
2. Brooklynn knows how to say "Mommy go night night" ( @ 4:00 in the afternoon)
3. Husbands need these occasional few days to get some perspective on the demands of being the "mommy"
4. Even when a mom feels like she can't even sit upright, she can somehow muster up enough strength for one bedtime story
5. Husbands may avoid physical contact when you have flu symptoms but your child will always want a hug and kiss no matter what condition you're in
6. A toddler can survive a few meals of cold pizza and juice
7. Hendersohn had no idea how to assemble a sippy cup (he now knows the plug is important)
8. The clean up behind your husbands "cleaning up" requires more work than cleaning up the first time
9. All it takes is one call and my husband comes running
10. You can sing the "Backyardigans" with your child (at their request) even though you feel as if death is upon you
11. Our bedtime routine (that normally takes 30 - 45 min for me )can be done in less than 10 (when Daddy does it)
12. Life can go on without you (just not as smoothly or like you'd have it to go)
13. God has an amazing way of quickly healing mommies because he knows how much they're needed! :)
